Quntis Bathroom Light Fixture review – Dimmable, color temperature selectable, bathroom brightness

REVIEW – I remodeled my bathroom a few years ago and replaced the light over the vanity. Even with an exhaust fan, rust formed on its metal body much more quickly than anticipated. It wasn’t lovely and needed a contemporary replacement. Quntis offered one of their dimmable, color-temperature adjustable, four-globe lamps for review, and I am a delighted customer (pun intended)!

What is it?

The Quntis Lighting fixture is an adjustable color temperature, dimmable sconce lamp with switch-selected color temperature.

Design and features

The packaging is excellent. Heavy foam protects everything.

The glass globes and decorative extensions are separate. The light is metal and glass and relatively heavy. If you’re going to install it yourself and are hesitant about hefting it up a ladder, it’s easier to install the lamp base on the wall and attach the pretty parts later.

I like the “suspended bubbles” look!

Before starting the installation, please stop. If you are uncomfortable working with wiring or electricity, please call the guy you know who has a Leatherman tool or hire a professional. Never work on live circuits; be sure the circuit breakers are off, and be super-dee-duper careful. If you get zapped, at the very least, it will hurt like the dickens. At worst, it will kill you. Please, dear Gadgeteers, be wary

There are three connection wires in the base: black (hot), white (neutral), and bare copper (ground)

Quntis includes the wall bracket and screws. The fixture attaches to the mounting plate with small screws at the 12:00 and 6:00 positions.

The mounting plate is well-designed and fits many electrical box types and orientations.

I wanted to use the dimming capabilities, so I installed one while the power was off. The fixture is bright and beautiful!

It’s great for nighttime bathroom visits at the lowest level. The photo makes it look brighter than it does with the naked eye.

If you’ve purchased light bulbs in the past decade, you’ve probably noticed a chart on the box showing color temperature as an indicator of the light’s tint. At 2700° Kelvin, the light will be on the yellow end of the spectrum. 5000° is a cool white, and moving up to 6000° will have a blue hue. The color temperature you choose is a matter of preference. My mother favors a warmer, yellowish light in her home. For my wife and me, about 5000° is our choice. I’ve worked hard to standardize all the bulb colors in my home so that walking from one room to another doesn’t cause eye fatigue. If you’ve ever experienced the disorientation of driving into an area with those yellow/orange Sodium-vapor or blue/green Mercury-vapor lamps, you know what I’m talking about.

Quntis makes it easy to customize the color temperature with a switch on the right side of the base. It slides to five positions for 2700, 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6500 °K.

I turned off the automatic white balance on my camera to capture the color in the following photos.

Here’s 2700°K

3000°K

4000°K

5000°K

And 6500°K

What I like about the Quntis Bathroom Light Fixture

  • Easy assembly and installation
  • Dimmable
  • Switch-selected color temperature
  • Uncomplicated
  • Bright
  • Stylish

Final thoughts

The Quntis Bathroom light fixture is one of those products that is so easy to install that it’s almost shocking (pun intended – please don’t do that). Minutes after opening the box, it was functioning perfectly and looking great! If you want dimming capabilities, you’ll need to supply (and install) a dimmer, but I love using the lowest level as a night light. The color temperature adjustment switch makes it easy to match other bulbs or tailor the bathroom mood (is that a thing?). It looks great, and we are thrilled with the results. Our only issue is that the light is so pleasant that we want to paint the bathroom now! Another home improvement project inspired by The Gadgeteer ;-)! Very nicely done, Quntis! Thank you!
